HRC Rowers win Gold at National Rowing Championships in BC

If you haven’t already heard, you need to know this.  Two highly competitive HRC Junior rowers raced at Rowing Canada’s National Rowing Championships in British Columbia this past weekend (Nov 9 – 11th, 2012).  Connor Booker and Sacha Ruzzante raced against senior, under 23 and junior rowers from across the country in the pairs event (2-).  They rowed, officially, as representatives from Nova Scotia, but also, of course as members of the Halifax Rowing Club.

And how did they do.  Well they won! First place, gold medal winners in the Junior division, coming 8th in the Under 23 and 10th overall.  A fantastic result showing that their hard work and dedication is paying off!

To qualify to go Connor & Sacha had to meet a tough qualifying standard set by RowNS.  Other provinces also require their crews to meet these standards so beating these crews shows how truly strong these fellows are!

From everyone at HRC … CONGRATULATIONS to Connor and Sacha.
