Join us and row on the beautiful Northwest Arm

As Atlantic Canada’s largest rowing club, we offer adult and junior learn-to-row classes. Come experience the fun and friendships. No experience is required.

Our coaches will teach you everything you need to know about boat handling, rowing commands, basic rowing technique, and boat safety!

Sessions Starting At

$275

Over 10 hours of classes you will learn the basic skills of Olympic style rowing. Once you have completed your Learn-to-Row Class, you can register for the reminder of the season.

History

Rowing is part of an enduring and proud tradition in the City of Halifax and Nova Scotia. In the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, rowing races were held on the Northwest Arm, the Harbour and the Bedford Basin, with thousands participating in the tremendously popular sport.

Donations of more than $20.00, made to the National Sports Trust Fund – Project HRC Equipment Fund, are tax deductible and will be used to purchase new rowing shells, oars and/or coach boats and motors. Donate today!

Visitors

Halifax Rowing Club loves visitors!  For safety, a coach is required to assign boat seating or practice times to visitors.
